Another simple manicure but with a very luxurious feel to it: white and gold leaf!
indoors, no flash |
I first wanted to try Au on a black base but as I had already done OPI's white gold topper on black for Christmas, I decided to go for the complete opposite: white.
First I painted my nails with two coats of OPI Angel with a Leadfoot and after that two coats of OPI Funny Bunny in the hopes it would make the white look more squishy. You can't really see it in the picture but in real life it turned the corrector fluid white in a marshmallow-y glossy white (now that I type this, I wonder if top coat would have had the same result... have to try that out some time). Anyway, after the white base was completely dry I added a thin layer of Cirque Colors Au. It took a little bit of dabbing to get the flakes where I wanted them to be but nothing major and the result... stunning even if I say so myself :) A last coat of Seche Vite to give my nails a glossy finish and I was ready to show the world my beautiful sophisticated fingers.
These are the polishes I used:
OPI Angel with a Leadfoot, OPI Funny Bunny, Cirque Colors Au |
Sad part: I intended to stamp on this so after I came home from work I pulled out the plates and the stamper... I don't think I've messed up a stamping job so bad before! I didn't even want to look at it, let alone take pictures... So after kicking myself for messing with a manicure that didn't need it and vowing to practice stamping more, I grabbed acetone and wipes and removed everything :(
Oh well, better luck next time... there's plenty of polish left in Au ;)
Do you like simple manicures like this or aren't your nails finished without some form of nail art?
Cirque Colors Au was bought from Pretty Polish.
So pretty!! I love gold flake polishes. So posh! ^_^ I hate when stamping doesn't turn out right. :( So much wasted effort...
ReplyDeleteSame here. I'll keep practising though and one day I'll get the hang of it... I hope ;)
