• Friday Triad: inspired by @polishpixie92

    Hi everyone!

Another month has passed and again, no posts from me... Life really should slow down but at this moment I don't see that happening in the near future. Oh well, at least every month there is the Friday Triad where Juanita, Michelle and I take turns in choosing a manicure that should inspire each of us. Sometimes the result is a recreation, sometimes it's completely different (I'm still waiting for black and white unicorns, Mich!), but the inspiration is the pick of the month one of us sends to the others. This month Michelle chose this pretty geometric design by Emilia aka polishpixie92.

I immediately knew I wanted to use autumnal colors and maybe a glitter crelly but apart from that, not a clue... It was only when I unwrapped a small gift from my hubby that inspiration started flowing and this is what my version looks like:

I started out with the gift, KBShimmer Hide and Eek, a lovely whitish crelly bar with Halloween colored glitters in it. I used three coats on my middle and ring fingers to get a fully opaque base. I combined it with Il était un Vernis Merlot, a beautiful rust-colored one coater with lots of small golden flecks and some holo sparkles, that I used (in one coat) on my thumb, index and pinky.

I had fully intended to use stripes for the accents but the gift contained a stamping plate as well, UberChic Lovely Leaves 4, and I really loved the stylized, leafy image on it. I figured it could work as well, so I stamped it on the side of my middle and ring finger using black Painted Polish Midnight Mischief. The border was stamped using the same black and a straight line from Clear Jelly Stamper CJS-52 Lines. A generous coat of Seche Vite helped smoothen out any texture from the glitter and sealed everything so I could enjoy my manicure for as long as possible.

    The polishes I used:
KBShimmer Hide and Eek, Il était un Vernis Merlot, Painted Polish Midnight Mischief

As you can see I really took the inspired-by route this time. I really loved the geometric look but who can resist leaves in Fall? I know I can't! So I've been wearing this manicure for over a week, and I loved every minute of it. I'm not sure if you can really see the glitter base beneath the stamped flowers but it looks absolutely cute in real life! I guess Hide and Eek was another perfect choice :)

I really wonder what Michelle and Juanita did with this inspiration. It's so versatile, maybe one of them actually did those black and white unicorns ;) Just click here or here to be whisked off to their website.
