• Zoya Delight Spring 2015 - Rayne, Leslie and Daisy

    Hi everyone!

You didn't think I had the willpower to NOT try out the new Zoya Delight polishes, did you? :)
I'm working at home today, or rather, studying for an exam so I decided to study a chapter and, as a short break, paint my nails with one of the Delight polishes. I don't know about you but I just can't study for hours on end without breaks so I figured this would be a nice way to get the polishes swatched. I've decided to start with the metallic shimmers: Rayne, Leslie and Daisy.

Zoya Delight Spring 2015: Rayne, Leslie and Daisy
This is the first of the bunch, Rayne.

indoors, no flash - four coats without top coat
    From the Zoya website:
Rayne by Zoya can be best described as a dewy, spring blue metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash.

Rayne is a cute, bright blue polish that is packed with beautiful turquoise shimmer. The formula was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. It was pretty sheer and not self-leveling at all so I had to be careful not to go over the same spot twice and wait at least 10 minutes between coats to keep the new layer from dragging away the polish underneath. The polish dries a bit matte and slightly textured so I added top coat to see what that would look like.

Apart from the dent on my middle finger that I couldn't correct anymore (and I really didn't want to wait for another four coats to dry... sorry), you can see the texture is completely gone and the polish is smooth now. Also the shimmer is a lot more visible (in real life anyway ;). Personally I think it's an improvement but I don't see myself wearing Rayne as a full manicure, top coated or not. I will definitely use it for dots though and maybe as an accent nail.

    Next is Leslie.

indoors, no flash - two coats without top coat
    From the Zoya website:
Leslie by Zoya can be best described as a soft spring lavender metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash.

Leslie is a girly lilac colored polish with the same turquoise shimmer as Rayne (and Daisy). The formula was way better than Rayne's and I only needed two coats for full opacity. The polish dries almost smooth but I added top coat anyway to see if it would make a difference.

As you can see my nails look a bit glossier now, but that's about it. I don't think Leslie goes very well with my skintone so I guess this is another one for dots and accents (and I think my youngest niece will probably love this one a lot!!).

Last one for this post is Daisy.

    From the Zoya website:
Daisy by Zoya can be best described as a refreshing lemon merengue yellow metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash.

Daisy is a sunny yellow polish with the same turquoise shimmer as the other two polishes in this post. The formula wasn't as bad as Rayne's but not as good as Leslie's. I used one thin coat and a thicker one to get all my nails covered, except my thumb that needed another medium thick coat. The surface was almost as smooth as Leslie's.

I added top coat and in real life that made the shimmer pop a little more. Unfortunately the picture doesn't really show that :( I didn't expect to like Daisy but I can actually see me wearing this as a full manicure again and of course it makes a nice base for an Easter manicure.

Removal was the same for all polishes: not as easy as a creme but not much harder either, except for turquoise shimmer ending up EVERYWHERE! I can't even remember how many times I washed my hands but I kept seeing sparkles showing up every time I thought I removed them all. I guess I'll just have to scrub my hands some more before I start on the cremes tomorrow :)

What is your favorite of these three? And do you have any tips to get rid of the remaining shimmer after removing polishes like these?

Zoya Delight Rayne, Leslie and Daisy were bought from Pretty Polish.

    1. OMG! OMG! OMG!! *dies* Rayne is GORGEOUS! Loving the shimmer in Leslie. Daisy's got a nice shimmer, too. hehehe Hubby hates it when my sparkles get everywhere. Especially when "everywhere" includes his face. XD

      1. And its formula isn't too bad considering it's a yellow :)
        Glad you like it!
