• My reused manicure

    Hi everyone!

Last Monday marked the start of one of the busiest weeks at work. Not only did I have to do my normal tasks but I got new responsibilities as well (yeah, more meetings... so not a fan of those!!) and on top of all that a two day mandatory training, so I figured it would be a week of wearing the same manicure... but nope, I wore something different every day! Of course I cheated a little ;) Let me show you what I did in this rather picture heavy post (please click the small pictures to enlarge them).

This is what I started with:

I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring finger to have an opaque white base. While that dried I painted two coats of Colors by Llarowe Black Tea, Texas Gold, a black holo with a very strong linear effect, on my middle finger. After it had dried I stamped an image from MoYou Asia 03 on my ring finger using Colors by Llarowe stamping polish Panther (that stamped quite well but I didn't see much sparkle in the stamp...The polish in the bottle is sparkly so I guess it's just not the right image for this polish or I'm doing something wrong). The remaining nails were painted with two coats of Il était un vernis Peace, Love and Chill, a gorgeous bright mint green holo and a coat of Seche Vite and that was it for Monday.

On Tuesday I had to attend a meeting with some company bigwigs so I wanted something more classic on my nails. I didn't have much time on Monday evening to spend on painting and I didn't want to wear 'plain nails' (after all, I have a reputation to keep up ;) so I decided to just remove the green and use a different color instead: Glam Polish Coven, a lovely red jelly that is stuffed with various sizes of holographic glitters. It took three coats to reach full opacity and two generous coats of Seche Vite for a smooth finish.

I felt pretty smart to recycle my manicure that way so on Tuesday evening I decided to replace the colored nails again, this time with the brightest neon coral I've ever seen: Cirque Colors Sin City (Lizzy has to be beaming with pride now ;) Two thin coats and a coat of Seche Vite and I was ready to face hump day (and I received an astonishing amount of compliments... apparently almost everyone loves neon).

    indoors, no flash
Wednesday evening I exchanged Sin City for the bright aqua holo that is Cirque Colors Royal Hawaiian. Three quick drying coats and a coat of Seche Vite and my nails were ready for Thursday :)

Last but not least I replaced Royal Hawaiian with Tami Skibo Sunset, a beautiful pink holo with a golden to orange flash (which is sort of, kind of, maybe visible in the picture I took with flash light).

And these are the polishes I used
    for the unchanging nails:
OPI Alpine Snow, Colors by Llarowe Panther, Colors by Llarowe Black Gold, Texas Tea
    and for the colored nails:
Il était un vernis Peace, Love and Chill, Glam Polish Coven, Cirque Colors Sin City,
Cirque Colors Royal Hawaiian, Tami Skibo Sunset

As I type this I'm still wearing Skibo Sunset but as soon as all the household chores are done, I'm going to take it off as the stamped finger on my right hand is showing a little too much tip wear for me to ignore. I'm actually quite pleased with how long the black and white nails managed to stay on. I touched up the black nails a few times but that was all.

What do you think of my ingenious idea to wear a (semi) different manicure every day? Would you rather wear a manicure all week or change something to your existing manicure every day like I did?

Cirque Colors Sin City, Cirque Colors Royal Hawaiian and Tami Skibo Sunset were bought from Pretty Polish.
Colors by Il était un vernis Peace, Love and Chill was bought from The Nailista Shop.
Llarowe Black Gold, Texas Tea and Glam Polish Coven were bought from Hypnotic Polish.
Colors by Llarowe Panther was bought from Nailland Hungary.
