• Winter wonderland in white

    Hi everyone!

If you haven't guessed from the title, this is my entry for the W :)
Another word I could have added was 'wedding' as I can totally see a winter bride wearing this manicure but
    1) I'm already hitched and
    2) our wedding day was in the midst of summer (and it rained... ;)

When I tried to think of a theme for the W, all I could come up with was 'watermarble' and I really didn't want to do that with bleary eyes and a pounding head. Only when I asked my husband for some english words that started with a W and he came up with 'weather', something inside that brain of mine clicked and a light bulb labeled 'winter' popped on, immediately followed by white (snow) and the early beginnings of a design were born :)

So what exactly is this W-manicure I'm talking about? This:
    indoors, no flash

I started by painting my thumb, index and pinky with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow, my trusty stark white that will need a replacement soon as it's about to become the first bottle I'll actually finish, and my middle and ring finger with three thin coats of OPI Funny Bunny, a white jelly that needed three coats to become opaque enough for me to be tolerable ;)

A thin coat of Seche Vite to help it dry (and a painkiller to suppress the fume induced increase in my still present headache) and after that I chose several snowflakes from MoYou Festive 02 to stamp on Funny Bunny using Hit the Bottle Snowed In. A last coat of Seche Vite after the stamping had thoroughly dried so it wouldn't smudge and tadaa... winter on my nails!

The three whites that I used:

OPI Funny Bunny, OPI Alpine Snow, Hit the Bottle Snowed In

As simple as these are, I absolutely love them! The clean look of white nails has always been a favorite with me but the contrast of the creme and the jelly and the stamping makes this a look I'm head over heels in love with and that I will definitely repeat (pale pink version in Spring... count on it!). Do you like my snowy nails too? I really hope so :)

These are the other entries for the W:

And last but not least entry 23 for the SBB Challenge gets crossed off. If this manicure isn't inspired by winter, I don't know what manicure is ;)

Hit the Bottle Snowed In was bought from Hypnotic Polish.

      1. Nope, FB is white... but of course it more or less looks nude on the nail as it's sheer and skin is poking through ;)

    4. The combination of those two whites made the snowflakes look so amazingly 3D. I am so jealous. :)
