As you can see, I've spend an hour or so filing down my nails... again... :(
After breaking the nail on my left middle finger, I decided to take pictures of my Cinderella hand for a while, only to crash into a door when it was opened unexpectedly so that took another two nails from my right hand. I managed to avoid getting hit in the face though! So it's back to shorties (and pampering them as much as I can to encourage them to grow faster). I was lucky though, no breaks went into the pink part so it doesn't hurt.
Anyway, the 32nd prompt calls for Black and White and for me that means a minimal design, which in turn means the emphasis is on the paint and stamp job... I hope I did a decent job:
I started out by painting all my nails with two coats of a new to me white creme polish, essence Wild White Ways. I've read pretty good reviews about it but I wasn't so happy with it. To me it felt like painting with correction fluid. Maybe it was the temperature (hot... hot... way too hot) or I was trying too hard, I don't know. I won't throw it out though, I'll give it another shot when the thermometer shows normal figures again ;)
After it had dried I evened it out with a coat of Seche Vite to make sure the surface I would stamp on would be as smooth as possible. I stamped an abstract lotus like image from UberChic 21-03 near my cuticles, using Hit the Bottle As Black As Night. Another coat of Seche Vite to seal everything and my nails were done.
The polishes:

I know this is very simple, maybe even too simple to be called nail art. But for some reason it just feels right to me and I think it works because my nails are short. If they had been longer, I don't think I would have liked it as much as I do now. What do you think?
I like it, I'm also not sure if it would have been as nice if your nails were longer.
ReplyDeleteSorry about all your breaks, those always suck.
Thanks! Shorties aren't always bad, although I can't wait for mine to get longer ;)
DeleteFor me it's an indication I'm too tired. I become clumsy when I'm tired and I usually only break nails when I crash into things (or fall off of them etc.)
I really love this simplistic but striking look. Especially when it is so gorgeous and monochrome. Sorry about the breaks but yay for saving that face! Luckily nails grow back ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yay for saving my face and guess what? My nails have grown back! Who would have thunk that, right? ❤
