• Chevron skittlette like Marta

    Hi everyone!

It probably isn't a big surprise my favorite type of manicure is a skittlette. I love to have my nails look different but somehow matching at the same time. The queen of skittlettes is of course Marta from Chit Chat Nails. Ever since I've found her blog, I have been saving manicures that I would love to recreate and this is one for them, her chevron skittlette. I just love the combination of colors and the chevrons so I browsed my stash for similar polishes as I don't have any of the ones Marta used. I hope I did her manicure some justice :)

    indoors, no flash
After base coat I used three thin coats Illamasqua Purity on my thumb, index and middle finger, two coats of OPI Berlin There Done That on my ring finger and no less than four coats of a-england Merlin on my pinky to make sure it was completely opaque. After that I stamped my ring finger with essence Stampy Polish White and Born Pretty plate BP-L006 to make the chevrons. I really have to try nail vinyls but I haven't had the time to try them out yet so I used stamping. Final thing I did was adding Seche Vite and I was done!

My right hand was done the same but in a different order:

These are the polishes I used:

Purity might not have been the perfect choice with my skin tone, but it didn't bother me one bit, I just liked the sunny feel the color gave me and of course Merlin is stunning (or should I say blinding?) in the sunshine.

Would you wear a manicure like this and if so, what colors would you combine in a manicure?

a-england Merlin was bought from Pretty Polish.
