• Brown multichrome stamping

    Hi everyone!

Apparently I did something to get the undivided attention of the higher powers that distribute flu, running noses, teary eyes and plain misery... I thought I'd already had my share of those "gifts" earlier this year but I guess not as I've been battling a really nasty infection for the last week-and-a-half. I finally gave in and went to my g.p. for antibiotics and I'm slowly improving now but I'm still sneezing and coughing my head off.

Don't ask me why but I thought it would be a good idea to reorganize my stash... Right, I hardly have the energy to get out of bed so reorganizing a zillion bottles is really smart! Next time I feel that urge, I'll just get back to bed and hide under the covers until the feeling goes away ;) Anyway, while trying to sort my bottles by color, I came across an untried brown polish and I decided to play a little (yup, attention span of a guppy at the moment...)

Layla Mudhattan is a milk chocolate brown polish with a suede finish, not completely matte but definitely not glossy or even rubber like. In the bottle you can see a gold rose shimmer but that is invisible once the polish is on your nails. As with most matte and semi matte polishes, it dries really fast which is a good thing as you don't want to use fast drying top coat to preserve the finish.

I wanted to add a little something and as I was still working my way through the browns, I spotted Rimmel Bronze Princess on my desk so that was a no brainer: tone on tone stamping! Bronze Princess is a brown-purple-gold-green multichrome and it stamped surprisingly well. My bottle has a terrible brush (kind of like the dreaded Catrice brushes) but since I only had to paint a line at the top of the image I chose, Born Pretty plate BP-05, that wasn't a problem. I'm not sure if you can see the stamping very well in the picture, but in real life it looked really nice.

indoors, sunshine - no top coat
We actually had a bit of sunshine so I immediately grabbed my phone to take a picture. Bronze Princess actually looks darker than Mudhattan, which it isn't, but at least you get to see the lovely swirly image I stamped with.

I added a coat of Seche Vite to see if the colors of Bronze Princess would come out more. As you can see: not really :)

Last but not least the line up:
    Layla Mudhattan, Rimmel Bronze Princess

What version do you like best, the matte or the glossy manicure?
I prefer the matte one but that's probably because it reminds me of chocolate... yum!!

Layla Mudhattan was bought from Pretty Polish.

    1. OMG That is so pretty!!! I think I'm going to have to be on the lookout for Mudhattan. XD That name is too cute! I definitely love the matte, but in my experience stamping on matte just flakes right off, so...necessary evil. Do you have any matte topcoats? It never looks quite the same as the original, but it helps preserve the spirit.

      1. Thank you :)
Yup, I've got a couple of matte top coats that I use every now and then... but it isn't quite the same so if I have a really special occasion that is just an evening, I live on the edge and go top coat less ;)
