• Re-created from instagram... my way ;)

    Hi everyone!

This is just a placeholder until I have time, internet connection and a working computer instead of trying this on a mobile phone who has a completely different dictionary than the one I use... the woes of a nail blogger are endless!

Guess what? I'm not at home at the moment!! My hubby surprised me with a week-long getaway in a lovely romantic little town called Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is in Bayern, South Germany. We had been talking about taking some time off to get away from normal day life with all its duties and chores and just spend some time together, and he picked this place to go to. Of course I totally objected (because why would I want to do absolutely nothing but enjoy the company and the gorgeous views and not think of work or any other duties) so he just about had to drag me there kicking and screaming ;)

Anyway, before we left I remembered the ABC Challenge would start again since the 31 Day Challenge (read: 31 days of absolute madness) were over so I decided to go with a re-creation for the letter R and take pictures in advance so I could write a post once the InLinkz would be available, even if I wasn't home yet. I already knew what manicure I wanted to recreate, this one! I just love the colors and the fall vibe. The only thing I changed was that I didn't put the stamped image on all nails and, since I wanted to push myself a little, I decided to try and mirror the stamped image on my left hand so my hands would be completely symmetrical. This is the result:

    indoors, no flash

I started by painting my thumb, index and pinky with two coats of OPI Scores a Goal! and my middle and ring finger with a coat of OPI Be There in a Prosecco (that wasn't completely opaque but since I intended to create a gradient on top that didn't matter).

When that had dried sufficiently I did a three toned gradient using OPI It's a Piazza Cake (darkest), OPI A Great Opera-tunity (middle) and Be There in a Prosecco (lightest). It took three rounds of sponging to get the opacity I wanted (read: 100% opaque) and I smoothed everything with a coat of Seche Vite. I then stamped the swirly image from MoYou Princess 13 on my right hand using Scores a Goal!. As I wanted my hands to be completely symmetrical I grabbed a second stamper, picked up the image from the plate, transferred it to my other stamper by pushing the two together and finally transferred it on one of the gradiented nails of my left hand (and repeated the process for the second nail). A coat of Seche Vite to seal everything (and hopefully protect it until we get back ;) and I was done.

    The polishes I used:
OPI Be There in a Prosecco, OPI Great Opera-tunity, OPI It's a Piazza Cake, OPI Scores a Goal!

I haven't seen any of the other entries for the letter R yet, but I wanted to make sure I would be in time for the InLinkz thingie so I made a placeholder post first. Trying to type this post on a mobile phone is highly frustrating to say the least so I was very happy to get back to the hotel and get my hands on the laptop my husband brought with him, even after I repeatedly told him we totally wouldn't need it... yep, I guess it's a good thing he doesn't listen to me all the time ;)

What do you think? Would you be able to look at these nails for a week like I have done?

These are the other entries for the letter R:

I didn't get the achievement on Thursday but... on Friday morning it was raining, we didn't feel like going out so we spent the morning gaming and I GOT IT!!! (and afterwards we went out for a nice long walk in the woods so I didn't turn into a complete gamer-nerd after all ;)
