• My Northern Ireland nails

    Hi everyone!

It's been a while since my last post but I have a good great excuse: we have been away for a short trip to Northern Ireland! We were invited by a family friend and as my husband passed his last exam and I could get a week off from work, we booked a flight, packed a bag and off we were, to the land of 40 shades of green (or at least that's what I've been told but I swear they can easily add a zero to the end of that number and there are still more shades to be seen). I won't bore you with a zillion pictures of the lovely pastures and the beautiful mountains and the incredible sea (update: but if you are interested... scroll all the way down, you can blame/thank Juanita for them), but I will show you what has been on my nails the entire week and only showed a bit of tip wear when we arrived home yesterday evening (or rather very very very early this morning):

On my thumb, index and pinky you see three thin layers of Blue Moon by Illyrian Polish, a gorgeous purple-leaning-gray polish with holographic sparkles and shimmer that resembles a sunset as it seems to shift from gold to copper and even reddish pink. It's one of those polishes that you just have to see in person as it's almost impossible to describe, let alone take accurate pictures of it. Also, it's a bit of a chameleon as the color changes depending on the lighting.

I combined Blue Moon with two coats (and a bit of dabbing here and there) of Zoya Levi, a cool gold textured polish that also contains some holographic glitters, on my middle finger and two thin coats of OPI Alpine Snow and a floral stamp of MoYou Pro XL 11 using Hit the Bottle As Black As Night on my ring finger. A generous coat of Seche Vite on all but my middle finger was the finishing touch for a manicure that lasted a week (and that will be removed once I've posted this article ;)

Here's a picture of my nails using flash, to try and show the sparklier side of Blue Moon:

    And here's the bottle shot:

I actually took Blue Moon and Levi with me so I would be able to do some touch ups if necessary but I could have left them at home (and saved my husband some concerns about leaking bottles ;) as nothing chipped and the tip wear was minimal... call me impressed!

I'm off to do some more cleaning: house first, nails after that :)
Hope to "see" you again soon!

Update: as requested... but since I couldn't choose here's two (remember to click them if you'd like to see bigger pictures):

      1. Oh no! I'm so sorry you were getting worried... I'm totally blaming my husband who secretly arranged everything so I couldn't announce it properly ;)
