• Friday Triad: inspired by Cambria

    Hi everyone!

The last Friday of the month (and of the year even) so that means another Triad manicure. Michelle's pick this time and after much deliberation she picked this one. Aren't they the epitome of festive-yet-classy? My version isn't that different (yep, I think that's a first in the history of Triad manicures ;)

I started out by painting my middle and ring finger with one coat of the uber gorgeous, utterly amazing Anne of Cleves by a-england. I cannot gush enough about this polish! I received it as a birthday gift from my husband and I think it's the most beautiful nude-y pink holo with golden shimmer. If I would have to pick just one color to wear for the rest of my life this one would be it... it's THAT pretty! Oh, and it is also almost a one coater so you can definitely expect a stamping experiment with it in the near future :)

After I admired Anne for a while I did a gradient on top using Anne and another a-england beauty, Shall Be My Queen which is a dark rosy pink holo. A coat of Seche Vite to help it dry faster and I was ready to stick on triangle shaped vinyls by Whats Up Nails. Initially I didn't want to use black but there really wasn't any other color I liked enough next to the gradient so I painted a medium thick coat of OPI Lady in Black (also known as Black Onyx in other parts of the world) over my nail and peeled off the vinyl right after that... and immediately decided to leave it like that and not do anything else but paint my thumb, index and pinky with two thin coats of Lady in Black and add a generous coat of Seche Vite to seal everything.

As usual the polishes I used:
a-england Anne of Cleves, a-england Shall Be My Queen, OPI Lady in Black

The combination of pink and black is always a winner as far as I'm concerned and if the pinks are two beautiful holos there isn't much that can go wrong, right? The hardest part of this manicure was deciding on the colors though. I think I've pulled about half of my stash and kept shuffling bottles around until I accidentally noticed these two beauties next to each other. After that it was smooth sailing all the way and I couldn't be happier with the result :)

And I just realized this manicure qualifies for the triangular challenge in the SBBNailChallenge. Number 32 checked!

a-england Shall Be Queen, a-england Anne of Cleves and the vinyls were bought from Pretty Polish.
