This week's prompt is foil... and since I don't own any of the foil you have to glue to your nails, my choices were either a foil polish or do foil stamping. I chose the latter, and this is the result:
I started by painting my middle and ring finger with two thin coats of Kinetics Arabic Blond, a cool-toned, pale pink.
After a coat of Seche Vite to speed up the drying, I stamped scribblies from Lina x @shannasnailadventures collab plate using Moyra Foil Polish 02 White. I waited for a few seconds and then started dabbing/pushing/pressing pink-colored Moyra Easy Transfer Foil No. 03 Rose on the stamped image turning the white into shiny pink :)
As an additional accent I stamped a small heart from an unnamed, heart shaped stamping plate I found in my stash. I used Colour Alike Pink Cadillac for that, a bright fuchsia color that, with a little effort, can be used as a normal polish. I top coated with an waterbased base/top coat from Catrice to make sure the foil wouldn't wrinkle or otherwise act up, and a coat of Seche Vite on top of that.
I finished my manicure with one coat of Pink Cadillac on my thumb, index and pinky, followed by a coat of Seche Vite and voila... ready!
The polishes I used:
Kinetics Arabic Blond, Colour Alike Pink Cadillac, Moyra Foil Polish 02 White |
I don't know why I'm always daunted with foil. I haven't tried the kind that has to be used with glue so maybe that's it (but someone told me she was thinking of doing it like that so I've asked for pictures, tutorial, video, anything to teach me how to do it myself). Foil stamping is fun though and it's actually really easy to do. I've read online that is mostly because of the qualities of the Moyra products. I haven't used any other brands so I don't know if that's true. All I know is that I really like how my nails look and I hope you like it too :)
Looks good :-D
