Girly flowers

Hi everyone!

The weather forecast for the coming days says sunshine! Translated to nail polish terms that of course means HOLO and lots of it. So what polishes did I pick? Three cremes... yep, really thought that through ;) But there's always holographic top coat and I added a true holo so I think it turned out alright in the end:

I started out by painting my thumb and index with Barry M Pink Lemonade, a lovely pinkish nude that is one of the four recently released Gelly polishes and guess what? It turned out to be a one coater, which means I can probably stamp with it :)

My pinky was done in another one coater, a-england Briar Rose. We all know what to expect from an a-england polish: good coverage, scattered holo, useful for stamping, and this pretty pink is no exception.

For the remaining two fingers I used a thin coat of Barry M Coconut as the starting point for a gradient of three polishes that were on my desk and looked like they were made for each other: Barry M Acai Smoothie, Barry M Pink Lemonade and Barry M Coconut (dark to light). After that had dried I stamped it using Briar Rose and UberChic plate Fairytale Sweet April.

To add some holo sparkle I painted a thin coat of ILNP My Private Rainbow (S) over all my nails, including my pinky as I wanted to have the same sparkle from each nail. A coat of Seche Vite to smoothen and seal everything and my manicure was finished.

These polishes were used:

I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed when all was finished. It didn't turn out as I'd thought it would and my gradient wasn't as smooth as I would've liked. But I didn't have the time to do a new manicure and in hindsight I'm glad as it grew on me and now I'm almost sad to have to remove it. Other  polishes are waiting for their moment in the spotlight though so acetone and cotton pads are in the near future ;)

What do you think? Do you like my girly flowers? And has sunshine reached you yet? ;)

Barry M Acai Smoothie and Barry M Pink Lemonade were bought from Barry M.
Barry M Coconut was bought from Alice & Jo.
a-england Briar Rose was bought from Pretty Polish.
ILNP My Private Rainbow (S) was bought from Hypnotic Polish.
UberChic Fairytale Sweet April was bought from Nail Artisan.

  1. So gorgeous and elegant!! It seems like it should be too much pink, but you found a really good balance. Your gradient looks plenty smooth in the pics. :)

    1. Thanks Maria! Feminine sounds way better (or at least more age appropriate ;) than girly... I'm going to remember that word!
