Yesterday we had to say our last goodbyes to my aunt Ria who is now finally free of all the pain and discomfort a horrible neuron disease caused her.
I personally don't feel at ease wearing something outspoken or colorful to occasions like these so I set out to create a very unobtrusive manicure that was still me. Disclaimer: this is just how I feel about it and I don't mean to insult or attack anyone who feels otherwise.
I started by painting my thumb, index and pinky with three thin coats of KIKO 372 Nude and a coat of Seche Vite.
My middle and ring finger were done with one coat of essie Urban Jungle. After that had dried I did a smoosh manicure on them using several nude and neutral tints. Light to dark: essie Urban Jungle, OPI Stop it I'm Blushing!, KIKO 372 Nude, KIKO 508 Rose Sand and OPI Taupe-less Beach. On top of all that I stamped a design from UberChic 11-03 using Hit the Bottle Snowed In and of course a coat of Seche Vite was added to seal everything.
The polishes in a row:

(from the funeral announcement)
ik hou van jou, ik hou van jou
een dag, een jaar, een eeuw
ik weet dat liefde lente is
maar soms ook een beetje sneeuw
I'm sorry to hear you lost your aunt. :( Your nails look very lovely, a very good pick for such an occasion and actually fit the funeral announcement well too.
