• Teal swirlies

    Hi everyone!

I sure hope your week so far isn't as lousy as mine! Apart from my broken and now nubbinized (yep, I've decided that's a word) nails I managed to get not one but two flat tires on my bike in one day and have been called names by a fellow shopper who didn't appreciate me taking the last bottle of detergent from the shelf (I guess he wanted the bottle himself but hey, I have to do dishes too!) and some more of those "minor annoyances". So you would expect me to be quite grumpy and I have to admit my disposition has been sunnier, but I still smile when I look at my nails so things could be worse ;) Want to see what I see when I look at said nails? This:

And what did I do to create my manicure? Just read on :)
I started by painting my thumb, index and pinky with two coats of a polish from an old limited edition collection, Catrice Nymphelia C01 Be Pool. Be Pool is a teal that leans a bit more to the green side with blue-green shimmer in it that shows up beautiful when the sun (or direct light) hits it but even with normal light and my photography "skills" you can see it in the picture above. It's very opaque so just one normal coat should do the trick but I had to do two because my coats were ridiculously thin.

My middle and ring finger were covered in Dance Legend Smoky 1026 Cetraria, a pretty grayed mint that is stuffed with the tiniest black particles so it looks... well... smoky. It's a bit sheer, probably so the particles won't disappear, so I had to use three coats to reach full opacity. I think I would need even more if my nails were longer so I guess shorties aren't all bad after all ;) I finished by stamping my middle and ring finger with a swirly image from LilyAnna by Messy Mansion plate LA-09 using Be Pool and a quick swipe of my trusty Seche Vite and voila, another manicure was born. Quick and easy and nice to look at (or at least I think so).

    The polishes I used:

I'm so glad I could add Be Pool to my list of polishes to grab for speed painting! I bought the polish from Bregje, a blogger who stopped in 2016 and who is now selling some of her stash. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of her favorites. You'll see them popping up here as soon as my nails have reached a length that allows me to do some more intricate nail art. For now I'll just look at the line up on my desk and feel happy that I managed to acquire some of my lemmings :) Do you have a lemming list? And do you dance around the room when you can add one of them to your stash? (I may or may not have done that myself... oh well, yep, you bet I did and I dragged my husband around the room with me :D )

Dance Legend Smoky 1026 Centraria was bought from Hypnotic Polish.

    1. Haha poor husband. I can't stand it when people can't be nice. I mean how difficult is it? I don't think I have a lemming yet...

      1. Nah, it's not that bad. He's used to me acting out by now... and he does it himself too and he's way stronger than me so I don't get dragged around, he just lifts me up (which is quite impressive as I'm definitely not small).

Same here! It's so easy to at least remain civil. Nice isn't even necessary...
