• #52weeknailchallenge - week 3: Unused polish

    Hi everyone!

Officially I should still be working so I'm going to keep this short but boy, is it sweet :)

My manicure for the third prompt of the 52 Week Nail Art Challenge features both an unused polish but an unused plate as well. I won't say too much about the plate (as I wasn't too impressed) but the polish... *swoons*

    Come take a look!

Let me introduce you to Cirque Colors Hygge, a winters sunset in a bottle! Hygge is a beautiful icy blue polish with coppery shimmer that is so strong you might think the polish is actually shifting from blue to peach when you move your fingers, and a delicate sprinkling of the finest holo sparkles like stars that start to appear during sunset. The only con I can think of is the smell. Cirque Colors stopped adding essential oils like lavender and sage and the polish smells quite chemical so if you have problems with strong smells I recommended something to pinch your nose closed as you don't want to miss out on this beauty because she needs deodorant ;)

I started out by painting all my nails with three thin coats of Hygge. It's quite sheer so if I tilt my hands and squint and the light hits it in just the right angle I can still see some VNL but it's so beautiful I don't care (and we all know squinting causes wrinkles so who wants to squint anyway?). I actually wore the polish as is for two days, just because it's that beautiful.

But of course my inner artist wanted to play as well so I decided to stamp a swirly image from BC-04, a brandless plate that I got from AliExpress I think. It wasn't expensive and it stamps... and that's all there is to say about it ;) I didn't want to use black for stamping as I felt it too harsh so I opted for a very dark blue holo, Il était un vernis #ladykiller. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite and was left wondering if I preferred the stamped manicure or the plain one...

    The polishes I used:

I'm still not sure which version I prefer. However, I do know I'm head over heels in love with Hygge and I'm pretty sure most if not all of you will love her too :)

Cirque Colors Hygge was bought from Pretty Polish.
Il était un vernis #ladykiller was bought directly from the creators.
