• Hi everyone!

I was totally stumped for the letter U. I thought of unicorns and uniform and understated but nothing inspired me to even start looking for colors, let alone do a complete manicure. All I could think of were fall colors, especially deep reds... Fortunately I have this wonderful person in my life who usually comes up with the weirdest ideas but has his moments of genius and this weekend one of those moments happened. He asked me why I didn't do a manicure with all untried polishes... Why didn't I think of that?! I had already seen a gorgeous fall manicure that was on my want-to-recreate list so I decided to brave Mount Untried and find colors for my version of it... and this is what my nails look like at the moment:

For the letter T I decided to go with triangles, but not the stamped kind... no, I painted patches of polish, cut them up in slivers and stuck those to my nails. What that looked like, you ask? Like this:

Yep, highly inspired title... not! The manicure it describes is a lot nicer though, or at least I think so ;)

I guess you already figured out from the title this is my manicure for the letter S in the ABC Challenge. I had a completely different idea but unfortunately my side job as official gravity tester interfered (note to self: do NOT try to catch stuff with your fingertips if you're sporting (too) long nails). The manicure I had in mind really called for long talons so I'll be saving that for later, when my nails are back to hardly-able-to-type-length and I decided to go for subtle stamping on my shorties:

  • Hi everyone!

This is just a placeholder until I have time, internet connection and a working computer instead of trying this on a mobile phone who has a completely different dictionary than the one I use... the woes of a nail blogger are endless!

Guess what? I'm not at home at the moment!! My hubby surprised me with a week-long getaway in a lovely romantic little town called Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is in Bayern, South Germany. We had been talking about taking some time off to get away from normal day life with all its duties and chores and just spend some time together, and he picked this place to go to. Of course I totally objected (because why would I want to do absolutely nothing but enjoy the company and the gorgeous views and not think of work or any other duties) so he just about had to drag me there kicking and screaming ;)

Anyway, before we left I remembered the ABC Challenge would start again since the 31 Day Challenge (read: 31 days of absolute madness) were over so I decided to go with a re-creation for the letter R and take pictures in advance so I could write a post once the InLinkz would be available, even if I wasn't home yet. I already knew what manicure I wanted to recreate, this one! I just love the colors and the fall vibe. The only thing I changed was that I didn't put the stamped image on all nails and, since I wanted to push myself a little, I decided to try and mirror the stamped image on my left hand so my hands would be completely symmetrical. This is the result:

  • Hi everyone!

Another episode of What was on my nails last week, as I didn't have the time to type up even a quick post :( But I did manage to take the pictures so I can still show you what my nails looked like last week.

I was inspired by the color change in the leaves of the chestnut tree in our neighbour's back yard. Unlike all the gorgeous colors I see online, this one just turns it's leaves a dirty kind of greenish gold and drops them along with a huge load of chestnuts just when I have to get something from the storage in our back yard. Yep, fall is dangerous around here ;)

Anyway, I picked out the green ages ago and I also found the stamping plate I wanted to use but I couldn't find a suitable gold until I saw one of Maria's stamping manicures and I found my perfect dirty gold: a-england Holy Grail!

So I proudly present my falling leaves manicure (chestnuts not included):
