• Purple gradient skittlette

    Hi everyone!

After a exhausting week at work (working late, very late and even later than that, coming home and collapsing in bed) it's FINALLY weekend! It really should have come three or four days ago ;) But now that it is here I finally had the chance to change my manicure and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

    indoors, no flash
This weeks PPSA Challenge is purple so I started out by looking through my stash for purples and since I knew I wanted to do another skittlette (yep, another one... I just love the mixed-yet-together look) I just grabbed a lot of them and put them on my desk to figure out what colors I wanted to use together. I liked how two of my new Hit The Bottle stamping polishes looked together so I shuffled bottles until I was happy with the combination.

I chose: OPI Alpine Snow (my standard white, to show of the stamping gradient I intended to make), ILNP Purple Plasma (a gorgeous dark purple holo with a beautiful pink flash and a strong linear rainbow and an absolutely perfect formula), Nicole by OPI I Lilac Gumdrops (a lilac textured polish with purple shimmer in it) and the two Hit The Bottle polishes that were the starting point: I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It! (lightest of the two, my husband loves this name ;) and Purple Reign (that is shown way too blue in the bottle shot, the color in the no flash picture is as it should be).

    indoors, flash
I used two coats of Alpine Snow on my middle and ring finger, three coats of I Lilac Gumdrops on my pinky and two thin coats of Purple Plasma on my thumb and index (if I had made the coats of Purple Plasma a bit thicker, I think it could actually be close to a one coater). After all that had dried with the help of a coat of Seche Vite (except on my pinky of course) I used the Hit The Bottle polishes with MoYou London Sailor 05 and made a gradient with both colors on the two white nails.

I am SO happy with these Hit The Bottle stamping polishes! They are thicker than normal polishes so they don't dry as fast, allowing me to position my stamper just right so the images end up on my nails the way I want them to instead of kind-of-right. And since they dry a bit slower I can make these gradients without any problems. Also, the colors are beautiful and the polish doesn't smell weird or strong, but just like normal polish. I really hope whoever is the genius behind these will start to make cremes as well... I'll be that idiot fighting her way to the start of the line to get all of them! (although I probably wouldn't fight... I'd just ask my husband to please please please get them and he has to do the fighting for me ;)

    The bottle shot:
OPI Alpine Snow, Nicole by OPI I Lilac Gumdrops, ILNP Purple Plasma,
Hit The Bottle I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It!, Hit The Bottle Purple Reign
I hope you all have a great weekend! I know I'm thoroughly going to enjoy mine, doing as little as possible ;)

This is what the other ladies in the PPSA challenge did for their purple manicure:

Hit The Bottle I Like To Mauve It, Mauve It! and Hit The Bottle Purple Reign were bought from Hypnotic Polish.
ILNP Purple Plasma was bought from Nailland Hungary but is now also sold at Hypnotic Polish.
