• Pastel smoosh manicure

    Hi everyone!

It's still very cold and gray over here (it's 11 degrees Celsius where it should be around 16-17 this time of year) so I was craving colors (and a thick sweater, a scarf and mittens ;) and if the sun wouldn't come out, I wanted sunny colors on my nails... so, inspired by a manicure by @nadioula_ on Instagram, I grabbed a cream, a yellow and a peach and sat down for some me-time. This is what my nails look like at the moment:

I started by painting my thumb, index and pinky with three thin coats of Etude House Ice Cream Peach, a polish that I received ages ago as my husband thought the shape of the bottles (small ice cream cones) was too cute to resist (and as proof of that he got me the complete  piece collection, but I think the total price was less than one OPI polish so I would say he did a good job ;) and I used two coats of OPI It's in the Cloud for my middle and ring finger.

When all that had dried I used both polishes and Etude House Ice Cream Banana (a yellow, yep, never would have guessed that ;) to make little blobs of polish on a small glass saucer and used my stamper to smoosh all the colors together and get it on my nails. I love using that saucer (this one, Dutch site but you can see the picture if you're interested) as I usually make a huge mess if I use a plastic bag (sleeves with polish, hands with polish, desk with polish, you get the picture) and I can clean it with some acetone and use it over and over.

Last but not least I stamped flowers on the citrusy marble from UberChic 12-02 using Hit the Bottle Snowed In and painted a generous coat of Seche Vite on all nails.

These are the polishes I used, and don't the Etude House polishes look absolutely adorable? I have to admit painting with them wasn't as easy as with a normal cap but it was manageable. I didn't like the bottle shape very much though as I felt it could topple over very easily if I didn't put in the brush very carefully.

Looking at my nails makes me smile and as I really needed something to cheer me up I guess that makes this manicure a sound hit. I hope they can make you smile too :) (and maybe coax out the sun... the warmth is provided by the heating I just turned on. Keeping my fingers crossed summer comes early this year!)

Hit the Bottle Snowed In was bought from Hypnotic Polish.

      1. Thanks Lisa!
I love smooshing as a base for stamping because it looks different on all nails but still similar enough to make it all go together :)
