• Hello Sunshine!

    Hi everyone!

It's been two weeks since my last post and I've decided Winter 2015-2016 and me will most probably not become friends. So far Winter seems to be on the upper hand but I've been fighting the dark and the gloom with a sunny manicure :)

    indoors, no flash

In an earlier post I already mentioned I was spoiled rotten with gorgeous polishes for my birthday last December and I've used two of those gifts in this manicure: the mustard yellow #hellosunshine and the anthracite gray #justmytype, both from the new hashtag collection by Il était un vernis.

My thumb, index and pinky are covered in three coats of Il était un vernis #hellosunshine (four on my thumb), a lovely sunny mustard yellow with a subtle scattered holo that is the perfect antidote for rainy days and bad moods. Three coats are necessary to prevent VNL but it is worth every second of painting and waiting as far as I'm concerned.

I used Il était un vernis #justmytype on my middle finger and just two coats were enough for perfect coverage. #justmytype is also a scattered holo but way more visible in normal light than #hellosunshine and even more so under direct light (as you can see in the picture I've taken with flash).

To finish my manicure I painted two coats of Cirque Colors Carpe Diem, a not too stark white creme that is simply perfection to apply (and I love the lavender scent of Cirque polishes so that's an added bonus). After that had dried I added dots with #hellosunshine and #justmytype. A coat of Seche Vite on all nails and my day looked a bit brighter :)

    The usual line-up:
Il était un vernis #hellosunshine, Il était un vernis #justmytype, Cirque Colors Carpe Diem
Maybe you already spotted my middle finger looks a bit swollen in the pictures. That's one of the reasons for my absence as it is still quite painful. I've been told the swelling and the pain is normal though as I haven't used it in a while and now everything has to get back into working shape. Apparently trauma to fingers can take up to a year to completely recover so I guess I was just too impatient when I expected it to be over and done with after the tape came off. Also I'm studying very hard for an exam I have to pass before March 1st which leaves little time for fun stuff as I work full time as well *starts singing the Hard Knock Life song from Annie*

Truth be told, I shouldn't complain. I've got a job that I like, nice colleagues and the opportunity to grow in what I do... and that's just the professional side of my life. I'm blessed with the best husband in the world (you may think yours isn't bad either but trust me, I've hit the jackpot), a mother who jumps in to help out with chores and shopping when she thinks I'm too busy or "just because she has some time to spare", a family that I love and who love me right back, a good health (with some bumps lately but it's improving already) and of course you, my readers, who keep coming back even if I stay invisible for days or even weeks... thank you for that!!

I hope you all have a wonderful week and don't be shocked if you see a second post today as I actually managed to do a Valentine's Day manicure and of course I have to show that one too :)

#hellosunshine and #justmytype were bought from Il était un vernis.
Cirque Colors Carpe Diem was bought from Pretty Polish.

Me too! I can move it a little better each week so as long as I see improvement I'm happy :)
