What's on my nails today?

This weeks theme is White + Blue and as you may know, I love those two colors. I contemplated going for a porcelain design but I wanted to experiment with a new-ish purchase: Dance Legend Spot It 02 White. So I gathered some pretty blue polishes and a white, my silicone matte and set out to play. This is the result:

I sure hope your week so far isn't as lousy as mine! Apart from my broken and now nubbinized (yep, I've decided that's a word) nails I managed to get not one but two flat tires on my bike in one day and have been called names by a fellow shopper who didn't appreciate me taking the last bottle of detergent from the shelf (I guess he wanted the bottle himself but hey, I have to do dishes too!) and some more of those "minor annoyances". So you would expect me to be quite grumpy and I have to admit my disposition has been sunnier, but I still smile when I look at my nails so things could be worse ;) Want to see what I see when I look at said nails? after staring at all sorts of pretty red polishes without even a hint of inspiration for a Christmas manicure (even the Christmas carols that played in the background didn't help), I decided to go for more cosy and comfortable colors, grabbed a few of my beloved neutrals and sat down to do an office friendly manicure, as tomorrow is going to be chock full of meetings so I have to look more or less presentable (and now that I'm typing this I get a sudden craving for neon green ;) Anyway, a little while later my nails looked like this:

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday... ALWAYS take pictures of your nails the moment they are done! I painted my nails earlier and planned to take pictures after dinner. I had to run to the supermarket to get something (can't even remember what) and apparently I felt the need to make sure gravity was still working so I tumbled down the stairs and managed to break no less than three nails (and get some nasty scratches in the process). So instead of taking pictures I had to reduce my nails to shorties, redo my manicure, take pictures and figure out how to get rid of the scratches using Photoshop, with this result:

I guess I was lucky only my free edge was torn off and the breaks didn't reach the pink part of my nails, but still... my pinky nail is just so short! Oh well, they'll grow back in time :)

It has been one crazy week! I hardly had the time to do anything but work, eat, sleep. I did however manage to break two nails on my left hand last Thursday so I decided to turn all of my nails into shorties. Not too happy about that, but at least I can type faster now ;)

After filing down my nails I had to redo my manicure. I didn't have much time to do something special, so it turned out to be a simple stamped pattern. My base was three coats of ILNP Paper Route, a lovely light gray holo, and I stamped a tiny square-and-triangle pattern on it using Hit The Bottle Blue-tiful and UberChic plate 2-01. I wasn't too impressed with the result but anything is better than bare (discolored) nails, right? This is what it looked like:

My love for dotted nails continues, but apparently my nails don't love it as much as I do.
I already had to cut them after accidentally banging them against the wall and breaking two nails on my left hand, but this afternoon I managed to tear off the nail of my middle finger half way down my nail... ouch!! :( So I cut the other ones even shorter, but not even close to the shortness of my poor middle one, which means my Cinderella hand will be in the spotlight until my left hand looks presentable again...

As soon as I received Hypnotic Polish's newsletter I knew my wallet was in for some major squeezing. The Dance Legend Chameleon collection was restocked and Dance Legend New Prism had arrived! I immediately ordered the polishes on my wishlist and the next day they were delivered... how's that for speed? :)
