  • Hi everyone!

I just received a surprise from my husband: all four Frozen Smoothies polishes by KIKO. Of course I had to play with them and I decided to go for the blue one, Glossy Doughnut. I combined it with a sparkly black texture and a black stamp with a tribal feel to it (or at least I think it looks tribal ;)

  • Hi everyone!

The last challenge in the PPSA Nail Challenge is Needle and as I didn't do the sugar spun one, I was determined to do a needle manicure. I mean, how hard can it be? All the girls on YouTube make it look SO easy...

After trying it for the first time I decided to do a skittlette so I would only have to do two nails with this technique. After messing up the same nail for the third time I promised myself I would stop if it looked remotely decent. This is the result of the ninth attempt at needle art when I decided enough was enough and from a distance, with squinted eyes and in low light this didn't look too bad...

  • Hi everyone,

the second to last challenge the PPSA ladies came up with is Dark & Vampy...

    <insert ominous silence>

Yep, you read that right: dark and vampy, while thermometers can't even seem to measure the temperature outside (we reached an all time record of 38.2 degrees Celcius today) and ice cream sellers can't keep up with the demands of the overheated masses. But Dark & Vampy they requested, so Dark & Vampy they will receive (or at least my take on it).

  • Hi everyone,

quickie post today as there is a lot going on and I don't have much time to spend on the puter.

This is my entry for the PPSA Nail Challenge - week 4 - Go Wild With Dots.

  • Hi everyone!

As the weather forecast predicted sunshine (and lots of it) and the PPSA Nail Challenge called for pink I just had to go for pink and holo.

  • Hi everyone!

Today is the first really hot, sunny day over here (27 degrees C) so that means one thing... HOLO!! And as the second challenge for the PPSA Nail Challenge is red, it means a red holo :)

  • Hi everyone!

After reading this post by Michelle from Ordinary Misfit, I figured it would be fun to try another challenge (and maybe this time I can actually keep doing it ;)
First challenge: unicorn... ehm... total lack of inspiration struck immediately! So I turned to Pinterest and I saw cute pastels, horses with horns, more pastels... and I was SO not in the mood for cute. And then, after scrolling down a bit, I saw a manicure with a gorgeous, dark purple-red-gold multichrome shimmer in it... of course, Clarins 230 is lovingly called unicorn pee! I don't own the real unicorn pee, but I bought sort of a dupe a while ago, Max Factor Fantasy Fire. Immediately the little cogs in my head started turning and this is what I came up with.

  • Hi everyone!

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and, as usual, we're visiting both my own family and my in-laws. Also we're going to check in on a very dear old lady, our great-aunt who turned 95 last month and who is in the hospital after a nasty fall (fortunately no broken bones but a lot of bruises including her ribs that cause her some breathing problems). Now usually I don't really care what people think about my nails unless I have a job interview or something like that. But our aunt always tells me a nice girl (yep, I'm still a girl in her eyes ;) doesn't wear pitch black, acid green or bright blue so as a surprise for her I've given myself a really elegant nude manicure.

  • Hi everyone!

When browsing for some inspiration I came across this manicure. I had a white and a lilac polish on my desk, patiently waiting to be put away and this is what happened next:

  • Hi everyone!

A quick post today as I can't wait to get back to bed. Almost the entire country has had the flu so finally I managed to get it as well... oh well, some a lot of TLC from my husband and the complete series of House M.D. will help me get through this ;)

Today's manicure fits the current weather perfectly: gray and rainy :)

  • Hi everyone!

I suffered from a complete lack of inspiration when I was thinking of a new manicure so I took a look at the challenges I'm trying to do at the moment. N.A.I.L. Linkup has a skull theme and the Finnish(able) Nail Art Challenge requests something other than pink... Not pink, I can do, but skulls? I don't even have plates with a skull image on them! So in complete desperation I turned to Pinterest and searched for skull manicures. I didn't get to see many skulls at all, but a lot of manicures with OPI Skull & Glossbones! Now THAT I can do as well, so here is my skull manicure :)

  • Hi everyone!

A Valentines manicure but I didn't want to use red or pink... so it's a blue Valentine for me :)

I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow to get an opaque base.

  • Hi everyone!

Neon and hot pink... way out of my comfort zone! But being the sweet wife that I am (when it's convenient ;) I added Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream to my shopping basket when my husband said he liked 'that pink one' and this is what happened after it arrived:

  • Hi everyone!

Pantone has chosen Marsala as the color of the year 2015. From their website:
A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.

I didn't have a clue what polishes were marsala, so I googled and I found Zoya Marney and Nicole by OPI Cinna-Man Of My Dreams are supposed to be perfect examples. And as it happens, those two have found a home with me so now they appear in my manicure :)
