  •  Hi everyone!

Another week, another prompt for the nail art challenge: Negative Space. If you've visited this blog before, you might know I don't like naked nails or VNL (visible nail line) so this definitely isn't my favorite theme. But as this challenge is all about getting out of my comfort zone, I didn't want to skip it either so I decided to think of a design I would normally do on a nude base and just skip the base. Let me show you how that turned out:

  • Hi everyone!

I had totally planned a reverse stamped manicure for the Flowers theme, but when it came to creating it... I wanted to do a gradient! So that's what I did:

  • Hi everyone!

Another week, another theme for the 52 week nail art challenge. This week it's Stars, and I immediately knew I wanted to recreate this manicure by @alinasnailplace, but with stars (and slightly different colors and sparkles 😉). Here's my version:

  • Hi everyone!

Here's a quick post for this week's theme: Unused plate. I didn't just pick an unused plate, I chose a brand I've never used before and here's the result:

  • Hi everyone,

guess what? My hubby did it again! He picked a polish and a plate for me to play with. And here's the result:

  • Hi everyone!

I guess the title says it all, even though the water is actually acetone 😉 I had so much fun doing this and it's just about the easiest thing ever. Let me show you what I did:

  • Hi everyone!

It's the first Friday in May (wow... one-third of 2020 is over already?!) so it's time again for My polish, your plate, where Michelle and I take turns in picking a polish or an image of a stamping plate and after that both of us can go wild creating a manicure with the choices. No rules except the polish has to be a prominent color in the resulting nails. This week Michelle picked the polish, shimmery periwinkle OPI Show Me Your Tips! and I selected the swirly image at the bottom of Hello Maniology plate BM-406. Let me show you what I did with them:

  • Hi everyone,

the year steadily progresses and so does the weekly nail art challenge. We're at theme 17 already and this week's prompt is Holo. I had about as many ideas as I have holo polishes, but in the end I settled on a simple manicure with the color I always associate with holo: silver. This is what happened next:

  • Hi everyone!

Of course the 52 week nail art challenge prompt for this week couldn't be anything but Easter. I'm pretty sure lots of bunnies, chicks and eggs will pop up in our feeds but I didn't really feel like doing that. When I think of Easter, I think of the midnight mass my parents used to take us kids to, the silence in the dark church where only a few lamps were turned on, the lighting of the candle, the feeling that something big was going to happen (and staying up late and walking outside in the middle of the night made it even more special). Another thing that I associate with Easter (and Spring in general) is pastel colors, so I combined this in my Easter manicure:

  • Hi everyone!

This week the challenge is Purple + Gray. I kept my manicure very simple as inspiration is in very short supply lately. Since you can hardly ever go wrong with a dotticure, that's what I did:

  • Hi everyone!

Another month has passed so that means Triad time :) This month Juanita picked the inspiration and I don't think I've had an inspiration that was this far out of my comfort zone... heck, at times I didn't think I would be able to find my way home! This is what she chose: an Easter colored, freehanded manicure with decals by Yulia from @juli_addicted. Believe me when I say it was a struggle, but I think I managed to make it mine after all... a bit. You be the judge:

  • Hi everyone!

This month's inspiration for the Triad manicure was chosen by Juanita and she picked this one. It's my dusty chevrons manicure that I did back in November 2017! I won't bore you with the jumping up and down, the running around like crazy, the cheering, the shoving mobile phones under other people's noses to make sure they knew what had happened, because that totally didn't happen... or did it? ;)

Either way, I immediately knew I didn't want to change the overall design (speckled polish, chevrons, floral image) but as it's supposed to be almost summer now (not that the sun knows that but according to my calendar it's just around the corner) I decided to go for a bright color palette this time and what is brighter than neon, right?

  • Hi everyone,

it's the last Friday of the month once again, so it's time for the Triad manicure where Michelle, Juanita and myself take turns in picking a manicure that serves as inspiration for the three of us. This time it was my turn to choose and I selected this manicure by dreamsnails. Yep, you're seeing that right: gel polish and freehand... I don't know what I was thinking! (to be honest, I do know... that geometric design and the color blocks... what's not to love ;) I knew from the start I wouldn't do gel polish and since I can't freehand if my life depended on it, that was another no no. So what did I do? This:

  • Hi everyone!

Quick post for a manicure that was supposed to be quick as well, but took a little longer than expected. This week's prompt: Stripes, and this is my manicure that goes with it:

  • Hi everyone!

I bet you didn't expect a new post from me, right? It's been way too long since I showed off my last manicure but it's the last Friday of the month so it's time for the Triad manicure and of course I can't let Michelle and Juanita down. Especially as the inspiration of this month, chosen by Juanita, is absolutely beautiful! It's this monochrome manicure by Olga from @son_nail. Juanita immediately called dibs on using her beloved Pebble, Michelle laid claim on black-n-white and me... I was stuck trying to figure out what colors I would use! As you can see, it turned out to be purple and white:

  • Hi everyone,

another quick manicure because I wanted to try out some of the new colors I have been spoiled with this week (I have THE BEST husband ❤️).

  • Hi everyone!

It's the last Friday of the month again, so Michelle, Juanita and me get to cross off another manicure from our to-do lists with our monthly Triad manicure. This month's inspiration was created by Emilia from PolishPixie92 and chosen by Michelle who said she wanted a stress-free, pretty design. Pretty? Definitely! Stress-free? Not entirely... but I'll get to that part later ;)

First let me show you the end result:

  • Hi everyone!

The prompt for this week is Zodiac. I didn't know much about it, but I knew my sign was Sagittarius aka the Archer. As I have a plate that has a picture of constellations I figured I would be all set. Ha! Not so much! I couldn't get the image to stamp on my nails, no matter what stamper, polish, scraper or technique I used: no way no how, not a snowflake's chance in hell, or whatever phrase you prefer to express total impossibility... So I started googling for inspiration.

I now know my Chinese sign is Monkey (not that that helps much as I don't own any plates with a monkey on them, but hey, I can now make screeching sounds and tell people I can't help it because I'm a monkey ;) and I found that both amethyst and tanzanite are birthstones for Sagittariuses (or is that Sagittarii?). That was something I could work with and this manicure is the result:

  • Hi everyone!

I know, week 12 is missing. It won't be for long but as I managed to delete all pictures of that manicure and had to redo it, the Vinyls manicure you'll see soon was on my nails later than this one so I figured I would show this manicure first.

Easter isn't a holiday that triggers a lot of ideas for me. Of course the colors I think of are pastel but that's because Easter is in Spring (over here anyway). Since I'm not too keen on eggs or bunnies on my nails I decided to go with pastels, lilac and purple to be more specific:

  • Hi everyone!

It's the last Friday of the month (even though it feels like February has just started ;) so that means it's time for the Friday Triad to show what we did to with the inspiration one of us picked. This month it was Michelle's turn and she chose a gorgeous manicure by Paulina from Paulina's Passions. I loved the manicure the moment I saw it and I could see a million ways to do this myself... and then I snapped my middle nail and turned my left hand into nubbies... After talking to Michelle and Juanita I decided to go ahead and put my right hand in the spot light, but I guess she's still a bit shy so the pose isn't quite what I wanted it to be. Unfortunately it's way past my bed time (again) so no more retries... May I present my version of Paulina's manicure:
