• Faded gradient in two versions

    Hi everyone!

I hope your Saturday was as relaxed as mine: no chores (as we'd done all of them on Friday when I had a day off), great 80's music on the radio (even if they're not from that era I don't know anyone who doesn't love the songs that were created then), constant supply of tea with the occasional yummy (courtesy of my husband) and lots of free time to do whatever I wanted... definitely worth repeating :)

Of course part of my free time was filled with doing a new manicure and this is what my nails looked like at the end of the day:

This manicure is copied from inspired by this manicure by Sonia from @badgirlnails. I don't have the same polishes so I chose similar ones from my stash and I skipped the studs as 1) I don't have them and 2) my nails are just too narrow to use them like Sonia did.

This is what I did use: my thumb, index and pinky are painted with two coats of Zoya Brigitte and my middle finger has one coat plus some dabbing of OPI Crown Me Already! For my ring finger I started with three coats of OPI You Callin' Me A Lyre. After that had dried I created a gradient with YCMAL and OPI Alpine Snow, waited a while until that had dried as well and stamped an image of Born Pretty plate BP-03 on it using Hit The Bottle Snowed In. I finished with a coat of Seche Vite on all nails but my middle finger.

When I was editing the pictures this morning, I felt the silver was a bit too harsh compared to the soft colors on my other nails so I grabbed a small piece of sponge, painted some YCMAL on it and dabbed a very thin coat on my middle finger:

As you can see it softened the color and matted the sparkle a bit and I like it even better like this :)

    The polishes used:
Zoya Brigitte, OPI You Callin' Me A Lyre, OPI Crown Me Already!, OPI Alpine Snow, Hit The Bottle Snowed In

Which version do you prefer? Sparkly or softer?

I hope you'll have a great week, take care and see you soon :)

Zoya Brigitte was bought from Pretty Polish.
Hit The Bottle Snowed In was bought from Hypnotic Polish.

    3. I like both, different finishes for different functions ;-)
Quite coincidental that we both did manicures by Sonia.
