• #52weeknailchallenge - week 11: Ocean

    Hi everyone,

I'm so behind with the #52weeknailchallenge it just isn't funny anymore, so what better use of Easter Monday than do some catching up and type up some posts for the manicures I did during the last weeks but haven't been able to show off yet?

So to start, here's my manicure for prompt 11 - Ocean:

I started by painting all my nails with two thin coats of Illamaqua Muse, a pretty deep teal blue. If you're using slightly thicker coats just one coat would be sufficient so this beauty has been put on my to-stamp-list :)

After leaving that to dry for a bit I covered all nails with a coat of ILNP Wonderland, one of the Real Magic Flakies toppers and this one contains mostly icy blue to blue shifting flakies that I felt would look nice with Muse. Together they formed the oceanic backdrop to my stamping.

I chose two plates from the Bundle Monster Sun Kissed collection and stamped a little oceanic life on my nails: silver fishes from BM-501 using China Glaze Millennium and black coral-like thingies from BM-501 and BM-510 using Hit the Bottle As Black As Night. One coat of Seche Vite to seal everything and that was it.

These are the polishes I used:

I don't do scenes on my nails very often because I usually don't like them very much on me, so I was kind of suprised how much I liked these. Of course that may or may not have been caused by the beautiful base with the iridescent flakies. Either way, these were a big hit with my little nephew who kept counting the fishes so I call these a win... and I hope you like them too :)

    1. The flakies are so pretty and you made the best color choice for the theme. Lovely outcome!

      1. Thank you, Andrea! The moment I saw the Ocean prompt I knew I wanted to recreate an oceanic scene on my nails and I'm so glad it worked out the way it did :)
