• Epitomy of autumn

    Hi everyone!

Summer hasn't even ended yet, but I'm already craving darker, richer colors... and after some digging through my stash I found the perfect autumn color: OPI German-icure. Combined with some gold accents and this is what my nails looked like:

    indoors, no flash

OPI German-icure is a gorgeous dark brownish red polish with a beautiful shimmer. I painted three thin coats on all of my nails except my pinky that was covered in three thin coats of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. L.A.M.B. is also perfect for stamping, so that's what I did on my ringfinger, using MoYou Time Traveller Back to the 20s 05. The finish touch was a small gold triangular stud that I happened to have but I don't have a clue where I got it from :(

It actually was the first time I ever stuck something to my nails so I did a bit of research on how to do that. On a lot of blogs the way to go was to dip tweezers into a bit of top coat, touch the stud and position it on a fresh coat of not-fast-drying top coat. I also found some mentions of using a wax pencil. The pencil sounded good to me (and less messy, knowing my proverbial clumsiness) but of course I didn't have something like that. So I went to the bathroom to get my tweezers and my eye fell on an old, neglected eyeliner pencil that was just waiting for me to throw it out. Since kohl is a bit tacky I wondered if it could be used as a wax pencil so I tried... and it worked perfectly! So the pencil has found a new purpose in life and is now stored with my nail art stuff :)

The very last thing I did was cover all my nails with a nice, thick layer of Seche Vite and that was it. My autumn nails were done.

    The usual bottle shot:
    OPI German-icure, OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby

What do you think? Isn't German-icure perfect for fall? And what do you use to stick things onto your nails?
