• ILNP Diablo with gold accents

    Hi everyone!

A quick manicure today as I didn't plan to repaint my nails but I had to. Unfortunately someone was "kind" enough to bang a laptop case against my hand breaking the nail on my right index, so after filing it down to way-too-short it definitely needed a coat of gorgeousness. Of course I wouldn't want to sell my other nails short so I sat down for a new manicure with a brand new polish that was bought just for the name: Diablo!

Diablo isn't just a gorgeous dark red holo by ILNP, it is also a computer game that I play quite often. I'm not really an avid gamer (unlike a certain male person in this household that wears the male version of my wedding band ;) but playing Diablo (III with the Reaper of Souls expansion, for you connoisseurs out there) with my husband and some friends is just a lot of fun. Anyway, when I saw one of the new fall polishes by ILNP was called Diablo I mentioned it during one of our games and lo and behold, it found it's way to my stash :)

Diablo is absolutely stunning. When hit by just a little light it is filled with bright red and blue specks that twinkle when you wiggle your fingers. It just seems to glow from within! Apart from the beautiful color it has a great formula that goes where you want it to go and stays where you put it. I used two thin layers for complete opacity and finished with a layer of Seche Vite to help it dry and give it a super glossy finish.

At first I wanted to stamp on it but I couldn't find any design that I liked so I decided to just add a little bit of gold and sponged Cirque Colors Au on my middle and ring finger. I used a sponge to make sure I got enough gold on my nails without adding thick layers of polish. I can't remember where but I've read a tutorial on how to get an opaque result with just glitter polish, without creating a really thick layer of polish on your nail. The trick was to paint the glitter polish on a piece of sponge, wait a few seconds for the sponge to absorb most of the polish and dab the sponge on the nail. That way the glitters were transferred but not the polish. I figured I could try the same with Au and it worked! It did leave my nails a bit textured but that was nothing another coat of Seche Vite couldn't handle.

    The bottle shot:

I'm still a bit miffed about my broken nail but who could stay sad when she has something as beautiful as Diablo to look at? I for one simply can't so I'll be smiling when I see that occasional flash of red or blue :) Hope you'll have a great week and remember: just three more days until it's weekend!

ILNP Diablo was bought from Hypnotic Polish.
Cirque Colors Au was bought from Pretty Polish.

      1. Hehe, I used to play Demon Hunter exclusively (I mean, leather pants and high heels... what's not to love?) but recently I've discovered HotA Barbarian and running around with a huge hammer and smashing everything that comes in my way is a pretty good remedy for stress so I play both now, but DH is still my favorite :)

I guess it's just my fate to have one or more cracked, torn or broken nails. For some reason I just can't seem to keep them intact for very long :(
